Perhaps the rave has passed when everyone was madly in love with the benefits that turmeric has and could not stop bashing about this goodness. There may be fewer posts about it written now as the knowledge has been shared and spread, however, turmeric remains a treasure so I would like to keep recommending it to anyone that loves natural products.
Turmeric, also known as Curcumin, has hundreds of proven health benefits. It has high anti inflammatory and anti depression effects.
You need 5 minutes to make yourself a Turmeric Latte and be your own health and wellness barista. Grab some milk, honey, black pepper and turmeric. And a pot and a whisk! Turmeric doesn’t dissolve well in cold fluids, hence heating up milk with the turmeric is one of the best ways to go. The dash of pepper is meant to increase the healing properties that turmeric has, it is kind of like a booster.
The ingredients list for 1 cup:
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 tablespoon of ground turmeric
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- dash of black pepper
Pour the milk in the pan, add the turmeric, honey and pepper and bring it to boil while you whisk so that the turmeric dissolves completely in the milk. If you prefer, you can strain your hot turmeric latte for an even smoother complexion. Do wait for it to cool down a bit before you start sipping on this golden goodness.
Go ahead and pour your latte in your favorite cup, sit back, relax and enjoy!
I know many people who prefer to drink this latte in the evening hours. You can drink golden milk at any time of the day but just as traditionally warm milk is drank in the evening shortly before bed time, this can be treated as such too.
